answers before appearances

Match on personality, not looks!
How it works
No swiping through strangers, and no deciding about someone from a photograph in half a second.
Everyone answers the same ten questions, and they close at 8pm. Your answers are permanent — nobody gets to revise their personality to suit the person in front of them.
That evening you're shown the people who answered like you — including the rarest thing you both said, and the places you two disagreed. Those are the openers.
Suggest a place, a day and a time from the chat. Tell a DateMate where you're going, and share your location with them while you're there.
Why it's different
On every other app you decide about someone before you know a single thing about them. Ten turns that around: you match on ten answers, and the photos are revealed once you both have.
Nobody browses strangers here. There is no endless grid to swipe through, and nobody is deciding about you from one picture either.
Made for meeting
You're matched with people in your part of the city, not across it — a date should be a bus ride, not an expedition. Suggest a place from the chat and it arrives with the day and the time attached.
Ten a day is the whole point. Enough to look forward to, few enough to actually reply to.
Safety
Built into the parts of the app you actually use, and run by people rather than filters.
Everyone takes a live selfie to join, and a person compares it with their photos. A verified badge appears once that check is done, so you can see who has been checked.
You're unmatched the moment you report someone, and they are never told who reported them. A person reads every one.
Tell a DateMate the place, the time and your match's first name — and share your live location while you're on the date.
If you are ever in immediate danger, call 999 first — the police can act in ways we can't. How to report someone.

FAQs
Ten is a dating app that matches you on your answers, not your photos. Every day everyone gets the same ten questions. You answer them, and we introduce you to the people near you who answered most like you.
We compare your answers with everyone else's who answered the same ten that day. The more you agreed on, and especially on answers few people gave, the higher your match score. You also choose who you're looking for, an age range and a few dealbreakers, and we only introduce people who fit each other's.
You see what you both said before you see much else. Photos and profile details open up once you've matched.
You can answer every day and see your first two matches each day for free. Ten Premium is an optional subscription that opens every match, lets you catch up on days you missed and match further out, and more. You can also unlock a single extra match without subscribing.
On iPhone first, in London and Manchester. Android is on its way, and more cities follow as each one fills.
You must be 18 or over. We ask your age when you sign up, and we remove any account we find belongs to someone under 18.
Everyone takes a verification selfie, which a real person checks against their photos. You can report anyone from their chat, and a person reads every report. And there's DateMate, below.
A friend you trust, who has your back on a date. You invite them with a link and they choose whether to accept. When you confirm a date, they get the venue, the time and your date's first name. An hour in, Ten asks how it's going, and if you don't reply they're alerted to check on you. They can't see your messages or profile.
Only the people you match with can see your profile and how your answers compared. We don't sell your personal data, and your answers are only used for matching. Our Privacy Policy has the detail.
No. Answers are permanent once you submit them, which keeps a match score honest. A fresh ten arrives every day.
Nothing is lost. Just answer the next day's ten. Premium members can also go back and answer the last seven days.
In the app, go to Settings, then Delete account. That deletes your profile, photos, answers, matches and messages. Deleting the app from your phone does not.
Open the chat, tap the three dots and choose Report. A person reads every report. If you're in danger, call 999. You can also email safety@tendating.com.
Yes. In the app you can send in one a day. If we use it, you might see it come up one day.
